Battlefield 6 Will Get a Battle Royale With Drones, Missions, and a Free Mode

The Battlefield series is preparing to return to the multiplayer shooter arena with a new project that will feature full battle royale mode. The information came from a reliable source via data mining: the upcoming game will feature a separate format with a number of non-standard mechanics that distinguish it from its competitors.

The key element of the regime will be maps with combat missions, which will reward valuable gear when completed. Players will be able to find crates with pre-assembled weapons, similar to Warzone. At the same time, the revival mechanic will be replaced by support through technology: fallen soldiers will be able to control drones, turrets and cameras, helping the team from a distance. Also important will be vehicles that open only after activation of special containers, access to which is protected by enemies and requires a key card.

The mode is being created as part of the main release and will be included in Battlefield 6, but It is also planned to launch as a free-to-play game. This decision is intended to expand the audience reach and directly compete with other major shooters on the market. A full announcement is expected in the summer, and the project is scheduled to be released by the end of March 2026.
