John Romero's Sigil 2 Officially Added to Doom Remasters
Company Bethesda released a new one обновление for re-releases of classic shooters Doom and Doom 2, officially included in the collection Sigil 2 — a large-scale and hardcore add-on created by John Romero. Sigil 2 includes nine levels and eight arenas, accompanied by new musical accompaniment.
The mod was first released in 2023 to celebrate Doom's 30th anniversary as an unofficial episode, but it has now been made part of the official version of the game. The collection previously included the original Sigil (2019), considered the "fifth episode" for Doom, and only now has a "sixth" joined it.
The update also solves many technical problems: a crash when using the automap has been eliminated, errors in multiplayer mode, the sound system and interaction with user mods have been improved. Now, when launching an uninstalled mod, the player will be redirected to the download page, and simultaneous installation of several modifications does not cause crashes.
Remastered versions of Doom and Doom 2 were released on August 8, 2024 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switchhaving received 4K support, modding, and additional content. Sigil 2 will be a real challenge for fans of the classics.
