EA Lays Off Up to 400 Employees, Shuts Down Titanfall Universe Project

Electronic Arts officially confirmed the large-scale Layoffs at Respawn Entertainment — according to Bloomberg, the company was left by 300 to 400 employees, of which about 100 - from the team RespawnThese reductions are accompanied by the closure two incubation projects, one of which turned out to be extraction shooter in the Titanfall universe with a code name R7.

In a statement, Respawn said they had made the decision to scrap two projects early on and conduct restructuring of the Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi teams. The developers thanked the dismissed employees for their contribution to the studio's success and promised support within EA.
