Players Prefer Original Horizon Zero Dawn Over Remaster on PS5 and PC

The recently released remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5 and PC, visually redesigned and updated to the level of Forbidden West, failed to surpass the popularity of the original among players on Steam. According to SteamDB, over the last 24 hours, the maximum number of players in the original version of the Complete Edition was 2 people, while the remaster had 872 players in the same period.

This data shows that PC players prefer the original version of the game, despite Sony's offer to upgrade Horizon Zero Dawn to the remaster for just $10. Over its entire life, the original Complete Edition peaked at 56 concurrent players, significantly exceeding the remaster's peak of 557 players.

While these numbers don't reflect the total sales for each version, high in-game activity may correlate with high interest in the product. Players may not see the need to upgrade to the remastered version because the graphical improvements and minor changes don't seem like enough to warrant the upgrade.

Sony is expected to continue offering enhanced versions of its popular games, but it's unclear whether the remaster will be able to attract more players in the future.
