Season 7 of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Pro League starts this week
Moscow, Russia — March 12, 2018 — Today Ubisoft® announced that Season 7 of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Pro League will begin this week in all four regions: Asia-Oceania, Europe, Latin and North America.
The first matches will take place among North American teams. The season will open with Evil Geniuses, the finalists of the Six Invitational, and they will be opposed by the group Ronin, who previously performed under the name “Onslaught”. Next, battles will begin among players from Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, representing the Asia-Oceania region. Latin American teams will join the action on Wednesday as Brazilian biggies Black Dragons take on Red Canids (formerly MyP e-Sports). European competition will resume at the end of the first week of Season 7: as at the Six Invitational 2018, the starting point of the tournament in this region will be the battle between world champions PENTA and the French Vitality.
Transition Season 7 will begin the third year of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Professional League. This will be the final three-month competition ahead of the league format change announced in January. From now on, each professional league season will last six months. The changed rules will take effect from Season 8 in June 2018. Details about the new format of the professional league can be found here. The final games, where the 8 best teams of Season 7 will compete, will be held in the USA. Details about this non-network event - location, etc. - will be announced at a later date.
