CGA - the first color monitor standard for the IBM PC

The video card, released by IBM in 1981, is the first IBM video card to support color images.

A standard CGA video card has 16 kilobytes of video memory and can be connected to either an NTSC-compatible monitor or TV or an RGBI monitor. Based on the Motorola MC6845 video controller, the CGA graphics card supports multiple graphics and text video modes. The maximum supported resolution is 640*200, the highest color depth is 4 bits (16 colors).
