Some PC builders proudly show off their ability to neatly organize cables inside their case to create elegant parallel curves, and are quick to take the opportunity to show off their work in panoramic cases. But for many of us, cable management is a slow job we could do without. To help you build an ultra-clean, worry-free PC, we’re introducing BTF motherboards that hide cables and wires by orienting connectors and ports to the back of the board instead of the front. ASUS is announcing a new generation of BTF PCs, with motherboards ready for the latest processors from Intel and AMD. The company is also introducing a new liquid cooling system that’s perfect for the ultra-clean aesthetic of BTF.
ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF impresses with premium performance and style
Loaded with premium features and built for limitless performance, the ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF gives Intel fans a top-notch platform to build a BTF PC powered by the latest Intel Core processors. Ultra Series 2.
With its ports and connectors hidden on the back of the motherboard, the ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF makes an impressive first impression. The shrouds extend to the edges of the board, giving more visual space to the main components. The dual-texture ROG Eye logo is on the PCH, but the star of the show is the Polymo Lighting II effect on the I/O shield, which illuminates your build with a multi-dimensional light show that can be customized using ASUS Aura Sync.
This ATX motherboard is designed for overclocking enthusiasts with a beefy power supply that includes 22 SPS power phases per Vcore, each rated for 110A. Massive heatsinks integrated with the I/O panel, U-shaped heat pipe and highly conductive thermal pads ensure VRM cooling under load.
ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF also offers unrivaled memory customization options. Four DIMM slots feature NitroPath DRAM technology for improved performance and stability – verified with DIMMs up to 9200 MT/s. You’ll have access to a full suite of memory customization features, including AEMP III, DIMM Flex, and DIMM Fit.
To access the fastest graphics cards of today and tomorrow, the ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF features a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. The Hero BTF features an additional 12V power connector that delivers power through the center of the board, so you won’t have to deal with a power cable with a compatible BTF graphics card. GPU, obstructing your view of the PC's internal hardware.
The ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF’s list of premium, high-end features continues with its connectivity options. Onboard WiFi 7 support is complemented by two top-of-the-line Ethernet solutions with a 5Gb port. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide endless versatility. The motherboard offers premium front panel connectivity options, including support for a 20Gbps USB Type-C port. Got a larger-than-standard gaming library? The Hero BTF’s six M.2 slots, three of which are dedicated to PCIe 5.0, have you covered.

The Perfect Cooler for Your BTF Build: ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB
Once you start tidying up one part of your build with the BTF design, you may find it hard to stop. Once you hide all the wires for your front I/O, SATA drives, and case fans, you'll be even more interested in the BTF graphics card hiding your GPU. And what about cooling your processor?
We’ve already seen PC builders experiment with clever ways to cool the CPU without ruining the ultra-clean aesthetic of the BTF. As much as we love these solutions, we also want to give mainstream builders an alternative that combines the convenience and performance of a liquid cooler with a neat, uncluttered style. The result of ASUS’s efforts is the all-new ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB CPO.
By redesigning the pump housing, we were able to reduce the length of the wrapped rubber tubing for this cooler to 200mm while still maintaining ample mounting options within the housing.
The ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB has also been updated with some customization elements that are so exciting, you’ll barely notice the tubes. The pump body now features a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED display that supports eye-catching 3D media without glasses — or personalized hardware monitoring information if you’re more practical. The display module is magnetically attached and attaches to the pump body in two different orientations, so your view is always on point.
The radiator fans also match the new cyberpunk-inspired lighting design, which extends to the sides of the fans as well as the front. To simplify installation and minimize cables, the fans are connected in series. They are connected by a magnetic connector that transmits control and power signals.
Dive into the BTF concept
The ROG Maximus Z890 Hero BTF, TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi, and ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB join the large and growing ecosystem of ASUS BTF components. With BTF motherboards, BTF graphics cards, and BTF cases, you can easily build a PC that hides cables and wires.
