NVIDIA DLSS 4: RTX 30 may get support for the new technology

On the CES 2025 NVIDIA has announced a new version of the technology DLSS-4, which will bring improvements in frame generation, reconstruction of rays и super resolution. But the key news for many owners of previous generation video cards was the announcement of a possible DLSS 4 support on RTX 30.

Bryan Catanzaro

Vice President of Deep Learning Research at NVIDIA Brian Catanzaro noted that despite the fact that DLSS 4 was developed for new GPU RTX 50 series, porting technology to older models, such as RTX 30, it remains possible:

"It's a matter of optimization and design. We'll see what we can do with the old equipment in the future."

Previously, DLSS limitations were related to the use of hardware Optical Flow accelerator, which was improved in RTX 40. But in DLSS 4 this component is completely replaced by AI solution, which Catanzaro says opens up new possibilities for porting.

However, he also stressed that the high demands on Tensor Cores new technology may become a barrier to full porting to older hardware. However, the very possibility of adapting DLSS 4 for RTX 30 gives hope to many users who are not planning to upgrade to RTX 50.

Whether NVIDIA will work on RTX 30 support for DLSS 4 will become clear in the coming months.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT: Launch May Be Delayed Indefinitely

Launch of new video cards AMD Radeon RX 9070XT encountered unexpected difficulties. The graphics adapters are reportedly already available in stock, but the lack of consistency between AMD and retailers in terms of pricing and marketing budgets has led to a delay in their market entry.

9070262

On the CES 2025 The RX 9070 XT's unveiling was viewed as "disappointing" by many stakeholders, and is still prices and release dates have not been officially announced. The main problem, it is claimed, is that the originally planned the price range turned out to be too high to compete with NVIDIA products. At the same time, revising prices for already shipped supplies becomes difficult.

How is the issue resolved:

  • Usually such problems are resolved with the help of marketing bonuses or cashbacks for retailers, which helps to make up the difference.
  • However, AMD has reportedly already delays cashback payments for several months, which creates liquidity problems some partners.

Retailers They say that without clarity on the marketing budget and timely payments, the release of the RX 9070 XT will be uncompetitive compared to NVIDIA counterparts. AMD is expected to revise its policy in the near future to stabilize its position in the market.

It is not yet known when the Radeon RX 9070 XT will go on sale. However, if AMD is unable to quickly resolve the current issues, the launch may be delayed indefinitely.
