Dune: Awakening Early Access Has Already Launched — But the Servers Are Down

Today, June 5th, it began Early Access to MMO Survival Dune: Awakening — a game based on the Frank Herbert universe. Players who pre-ordered Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition, got the opportunity to start the game 5 days before the official release, scheduled for June 10, 2025. However, the launch was not the smoothest: at the time of the server release completely inaccessible.

The screenshots from the client show that the game launches correctly, works with full display of the interface and system loading - but does not find any server in the selected region (including Europe Beta). It is noted that attempts to update the list or select another region do not lead to a result. At the same time, the client itself does not report a connection error.

Platforms have already accepted payment: on Steam Deluxe Edition costs 1549₴, and the basic version is 1149₴. At the same time, the description directly states that purchasing Deluxe or Ultimate gives immediate access to the game as part of Early Access. However, in reality multiplayer mode is not working yet, and there is no single-player campaign in Dune: Awakening.

At the moment, the developers from Funcom have not released an official statement about the reasons for the lack of servers or the timing of the fix. The game requires a constant connection to the Internet, and the inability to enter the server makes even early access useless. Users have already started complaining en masse in the reviews section, demanding either a refund or prompt restoration of access.

The project received a full-fledged cinematic trailer, which gave viewers their first glimpse of IO's signature 007 aesthetic. A gameplay trailer will be shown later this week, presumably during the studio's own presentation on Friday.

Lineage 2 – an old game on new hardware: which servers will be suitable in 2025

Lineage 2 is a game with a history that people return to again and again. But if earlier we chose servers based on reviews on forums, today it is important to consider the technical side: how the client works on a modern PC, how stable and optimized it is. Especially if you have powerful hardware and you do not want to lose FPS due to poor assembly. On the page with current Lineage 2 server announcements, you will find hundreds of offers with different chronicles, rates and opening dates. This is a great opportunity to choose Lineage 2 serversthat will perfectly suit your gaming style and your computer.

li2

Why old clients are slow on new systems

Lineage 2 can lag even on assemblies with RTX 4070 and SSD. The reasons are in the architecture of the old client:

  • Chronicles like Interlude and C4 are not optimized for modern OS and video cards;
  • old anti-cheats conflict with Windows 11 or load the processor;
  • clients do not take advantage of multi-core;
  • Some launchers are overloaded and unstable.

If the server developers have not adapted the client, the game may freeze even on top-end hardware.

How to choose the right server

On the TopServers200 website, you can conveniently filter Lineage 2 servers by chronicles, rates, and opening date. But in addition to game parameters, it is worth considering technical aspects:

  • x64 client - more stable and faster on modern systems;
  • availability of an optimization patch - the ability to disable unnecessary effects;
  • launcher operation - should update quickly, not load the CPU and not cause errors;
  • build stability - check if the game crashes, if there are any interface bugs.

Choose those projects where the developers really care about the technical side, and not just about donations and advertising.

Which Chronicles are Better for Modern PCs

If you want to get the most out of the game without lag, take a look at the following chronicles:

  • high Five and Essence are better optimized than Interlude;
  • clients with the ability to choose textures and rendering distance;
  • servers without overloading with effects and a lot of unstable mods.

On the server announcements page, you can select exactly those projects that are being launched in the coming days - and test their client in advance.

What's wrong?

Here are the key recommendations:

  • check what anti-cheats are used;
  • check if there is DirectX 11 support;
  • see if the client works without emulators and additional libraries;
  • Read the reviews - they often mention technical bugs.

Don't be afraid to check out the CBT (closed beta test) - it will give you a real idea of the performance.

Tim Sweeney: Neural Networks Will Let 10 People Create AAA Games Like Zelda

At the conference, State of Unreal 2025 Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney made a big announcement: AI will be the basis of future game engines and will allow small studios to develop AAA games on a scale comparable to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildHe is confident that the coming years will usher in a new era for independent developers, where a team of 10 people will be able to create rich interactive worlds and complex dialogues – using neural networks.

Sweeney drew a parallel with previous technological leaps: The advent of 3D graphics led to the birth of Doom, and multiplayer battle royales were only possible thanks to modern engines and server solutions. Now AI will give developers the opportunity to create large-scale worlds with hundreds of NPCs, where the writers only define the basic traits of the characters, and the dialogues and reactions themselves are generated automatically.

Epic Games actively integrates neural networks into its projects - one example was the implementation AI Versions of Darth Vader in Fortnite, capable of not only reacting to the player's actions, but also conducting a dialogue, singing and remembering previous events. Sweeney is convinced that it is deep AI integration will define the future of the industry and make AAA development accessible to small teams. This will lead to the emergence of new genres and formats, previously impossible without the resources of major studios.

Ubisoft Cancels Ubisoft Forward 2025 — No Showcase for First Time Since 2020

For the first time since 2020, Ubisoft will not hold its annual presentation Ubisoft Forwards. The company confirmed that the 2025 event has been cancelled, but promised that it will “continue to look for ways to share news” and “engage players in future announcements.” The decision to cancel its own show is due to changes within the company and, apparently, an attempt to restructure the corporate structure after the deal with Tencent.

Ubisoft Forwards

Despite this, Ubisoft will still be taking part in several major events this summer: IGN Live (June 7-8), PC Gaming Show (June 8), and so in Gamescom 2025, which will take place in August. However, you shouldn’t expect a full-fledged stage and showcase in the Forward format — the company preferred Do not comment directly on the reasons for cancellation and did not say whether the format would return in 2026.

According to journalists, the situation inside Ubisoft remains unstable. The company's portfolio has only one clear success this year: Assassin’s Creed Shadows, while other projects are either not ready for release or are closed. Ubisoft recently finally stopped work on the failed multiplayer shooter xdefiant, and proceedings are still being carried out against former top managers harassment trialsAgainst this background, Ubisoft's current silence seems natural - the company clearly has no time for holidays.
