Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to the hit game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was released on April 28, 2023. Development of the game began in 2020 when it became apparent that Fallen Order was receiving positive reviews and commercial success.

The game was announced on May 27, 2022, and the development team, led by Stig Asmussen, stated their desire to create a sequel that retains the atmosphere and mechanics of the original, but adds new elements and improvements.

DIFFERENT QUALITY MODES

At minimum settings, graphics and textures have reduced resolution, resulting in less detailed and blurry images. At the same time, maximum settings provide high resolution textures and improved detail, which creates a more realistic and colorful game world.

Lighting and shadows also differ between the minimum and maximum settings. At minimum settings, lighting will be simplified and shadows may be less clear and less realistic. The test was carried out on the basic configuration of Core i 9 13900K with 32 GB DDR5 6400 MHz pre-installed memory. All used RAM was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various video cards without launching third-party applications (browsers, etc.). CONCLUSION 

Finally, it is worth noting that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor experienced serious CPU performance issues, especially during long gaming sessions. A temporary solution to this problem is to exit to the main menu and then restart the game.

An interesting phenomenon is that when ray tracing is enabled, the game shows better performance than without it. This could be due to the fact that when it is disabled, some libraries responsible for processor performance are also disabled. A less realistic assumption, straight out of the land of pink ponies, is that when ray tracing is enabled, some game elements are rendered using video cards rather than the processor. However, this is unlikely, and most likely the reason is a lack of quality development on the part of the game creators.

In addition, it is worth mentioning the unpleasant point associated with activation restrictions from EA - only 4 activations per day, although Denuvo protection provides 5. They also disabled family access on Steam and linked the game to forced launch in online mode. This forced us to purchase an EA Pro subscription for all existing accounts.

Overall, the game has potential, but these issues take away from the enjoyment of the gameplay and create a negative impression of the product. We hope that developers and publishers will take these shortcomings into account and improve the game experience for users.

When activating or deactivating ray tracing, we made sure to restart the game, since without restarting the FPS with ray tracing enabled would incorrectly display lower than it actually is. So don't pay attention to YouTube videos where game settings are changed without restarting!
