Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a continuation of the famous series, a new high-quality tactical shooter with a first-person view, which contains elements of stealth. The game is quite reminiscent of its predecessors, Ghost Warrior and Ghost Warrior 2, but at the same time, it is not so linear, because it has a huge open world. The game will take place in Eastern Europe, and you will play the role of a sniper who finds himself in a huge military conflict that has unfolded between three terrorist groups.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta was developed on the CryEngine game engine. This is a powerful set of tools that works on all major platforms and allows the developer to focus on the game and not bother with the technical part. CryEngine was used to create groundbreaking trilogies such as Crysis and Ryse.

CryEngine 3 was officially announced on March 11, 2009, and the official release of the engine took place on October 14, 2009. The first game for which the use of CryEngine 3 was announced is the first-person shooter Crysis 2 from Crytek. At the end of March 2010, in an interview with GameReactor magazine, Cevat Yerli said that developers from Crytek had to face a number of problems when developing CryEngine 3 for consoles: “The most difficult thing was the process of scaling CryEngine 3 for consoles while maintaining picture quality and the proper level of performance. Of course, there were challenges, but we are very proud that our team was able to overcome them.” 

Shaders in CryEngine 3 are written once in a high-level programming language, and then automatically compiled for each platform. Shader output is optimized through artist settings and for the 3D environment in which the shader will be used. Thanks to this, it becomes possible to create effects such as the “invisibility effect”, wet, dirty and frozen surfaces, which can be “layered” on top of each other and combined with other shaders that simulate effects such as metal, glass and others. CryEngine 3 supports real-time per-pixel lighting, reflections, refractions, volumetric heat effects and animated textures to simulate windows, bullet holes, surfaces with sun glare and many other effects. CryEngine 3 shaders use a unified shader architecture that has been available since Direct10D XNUMX.

"Ubershader" is a single shader program with many features: from one to four lights, light types, specular cubemaps, fog, detailed textures, normal maps, specular textures, etc. Millions of Ubershader combinations can be generated. Ubershader uses dynamic branching, splitting into multiple passes, reducing combinations, and accepting options with less functionality and lower performance requirements. Uses asynchronous shader compilation and a distributed task system to compile the shader cache.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta has a rather meager range of settings - there is not even anti-aliasing. And it’s not always clear whether the graphic settings have been applied or not...

To be honest, the graphics are involuntarily repulsive - not that they are bad, but all this all looks rather second-rate and does not leave you with the impression that all we have already seen somewhere...

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on results on top video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 with different anti-aliasing settings.

We tested processor dependence on 16 models of basic configurations that are relevant today. The test was carried out in those places where the value of video cards for the game is minimal and its load was less than 99%, this time at a resolution of 1920x1080.

The test was carried out on the basic configuration of Core i 7 5960X@4.6 GHz with 32 GB DDR4 2400 MGz pre-installed memory. The entire used operational memory was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various test benches without launching third-party applications (browsers, etc.).

As we can see, with various quality settings, the amount of RAM consumed in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta was within 3500 megabytes.

If you have an 8GB system Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta  consumed 6.7 gigabytes of RAM, which was very critical. In the presence of a system with 12 gigabytes, the RAM consumption of all RAM was 7 gigabytes. With a 16 GB system, the total memory consumption was almost 7.3 gigabytes. And with 32 gigabytes of RAM, the system consumes 8.2 gigabytes of RAM.

Tested on Fury in conjunction with 3770k, it produces 30-35 FPS with dips of up to 20 during aiming and retracting the sight So 3770k is just the bottom here, just like the developers
It’s strange why I don’t have this on 290 + 2600k. At 2560x1600 ~40fps. When it rains it only drops to 30.
