RainbowSix sys

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is a tactical first-person shooter game in development. The game was announced by Ubisoft on June 9, 2014 at E3. It is the predecessor of the Patriots project, the cancellation of which was the reason for the announcement of the game. Developed for PC and the new generation of consoles - Xbox One and PS4.

The game focuses on team play and realism. However, there are significant differences with older versions of the game. The shooter focuses on multiplayer and features destructible environments.

THE GRAFICAL PART

This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.

Supported OS and graphics API

Rainbow Six Siege Beta is supported by major Windows operating systems, which include Windows 7 and Windows 8/10. Other operating systems are not currently supported by developers and will not receive support.

The priority and main graphics API for Rainbow Six Siege Beta is DirectX 11

Game engine

Rainbow Six Siege Beta is based on the Anvil engine 2.0. Anvi Next engine 2.0 is a game engine created by Ubisoft Montreal, a subsidiary of the publisher Ubisoft. Anvil is a commercial, proprietary cross-platform game engine developed for use on the personal computer (Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X) and on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii game consoles. First used in the game Assassin's Creed.

 anvil-next

The first game to use the Anvil engine was the third-person action game Assassin's Creed, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and released in 2007 for game consoles, and in 2008 for PC. In this game, the engine was called "Scimitar". Even before the release of Assassin's Creed, in August 2006, Claude Langlais, technical director of Assassin's Creed, confirmed that a separate game using the Scimitar engine was in development and would be shown in 2007. However, no announcement was made in 2007.

 Assassin's Creed 2007

This game turned out to be the snowboarding simulator Shaun White Snowboarding, which was expected to be released before the end of 2008 for all major platforms. However, the game was released in November and December 2008. The Wii version of the game supports the Wii Balance Board accessory.

 Prince of Persia 2008

The third game to use the engine is Prince of Persia (2008), released in December 2008, also developed by Ubisoft Montreal. In this game the engine was renamed to Anvil. In addition, this version of the engine uses cel shaders to give the visual style of the game a “fairytale” effect.

The latest version of Anvil engine supports DX11 capabilities. But that's not all. The game was also equipped with high-resolution textures.

Advanced Game Settings

Rainbow Six Siege Beta has a fairly wide range of graphic settings, which allows you to customize the game to almost any modern game. configuration. All graphic settings are located in two menu sub-items.

Below we have provided screenshots of the game at various graphics settings, where our readers can see the difference between the minimum, medium and maximum graphics quality settings.

Various quality modes

niz 2 sr 2 max 2

As we can see, the picture quality is most noticeable when moving from low to medium settings.

In 4K, Rainbow Six Siege Beta looks, of course, better than in HD.

Activating full-screen anti-aliasing does not completely remove all “roughness” of surfaces.

General visual design and game physics

The graphics in Rainbow Six Siege Beta are average, but nothing more. The picture is quite decent, but lacks the former scale inherent in previous versions of Rainbow Six...

GPU test

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. The average and minimum FPS were taken as performance indicators. Below is a video of the test segment of the in-game benchmark:

Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes of 1920x1080, 2560x1600 and 3840x2160 at the maximum graphics quality settings allowed by Rainbow Six Siege Beta. AMD CrossFireX and SLI are not currently supported by the game. The minimum FPS was taken from our own measurements.

Testing at 1920x1080 resolution

Testing at maximum quality settings 1920x1080

  Rainbow Six 1920

With these settings, video cards of the Radeon HD 7850 or GeForce GTX 750 Ti level showed an acceptable FPS.

Testing at 2560x1600 resolution

Testing at maximum quality settings 2560x1600

Rainbow Six 2560

With these settings, video cards of the Radeon HD 7850 or GeForce GTX 750 Ti level showed an acceptable FPS. The optimal solutions would be Radeon R7 370 or GeForce GTX 760.

Testing at 3840x2160 resolution

RainbowSix 2015 09 27 10 53 44 235 RainbowSix 2015 09 27 10 54 02 419

Testing at maximum quality settings 3840x2160

Rainbow Six 3840

With these settings, video cards of the Radeon HD 7950 or GeForce GTX 780 level showed an acceptable FPS. The optimal solutions would be the Radeon R9 290 or GeForce GTX 780.

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on results on top video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920x1080 and 2560x1600 with different anti-aliasing settings.

Testing at maximum memory GPU quality settings

RainbowSix vram

The recommended amount of video memory usage for a resolution of 1920x1200 will be 2048 MB of video memory, for a resolution of 2560x1600 - 3076 MB of video memory, and for a resolution of 3840x2160 about 4096 MB of video memory.

CPU test

RainbowSix 2015 09 27 10 52 47 769 RainbowSix 2015 09 27 10 54 02 419

We tested processor dependence on 16 models of basic configurations that are relevant today. The test was carried out in those places where the value of video cards for the game is minimal and its load was less than 99%, this time at a resolution of 1920x1080 with the given graphics quality settings without anti-aliasing.

The CPU performance in the game is sufficient for all models.

It's phenomenal, but Rainbow Six Siege Beta uses up to 16 computing threads!

RAM test

The test was carried out on the basic configuration of Core i 7 5960X@4.6 GHz with 16GB DDR4 2400 MGz pre-installed memory. The entire used operational memory was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various test benches without launching third-party applications (browsers, etc.).

Testing the game's RAM consumption at various quality settings

RainbowSix ram

As we can see, with various quality settings, the amount of RAM consumed in Rainbow Six Siege Beta is within 2700 megabytes.

Testing system RAM consumption

 RainbowSix ram2

On a 6GB system, Rainbow Six Siege Beta consumes about 4GB of RAM. In the presence of a system with 8 gigabytes, the RAM consumption of all RAM was 4.4 gigabytes. With a 16 GB system, the total memory consumption was almost 4.9 GB. And with 32 gigabytes of RAM, the system consumes 5.6 gigabytes of RAM.

SNOWWell? this was back in farcry 1 without any crazy stuff. Yes, even if this is done in some kind of crazy game, if it is turned off, the rag will definitely move, but a little easier. So why lower the quality of the picture so that the rag moves a little differently?
