Review: Playability
Gone are the days when Ubisoft was famous as a forge of game development, from under the crucible of which innovative, large-scale and magnificent projects emerged. At this stage, the company's policy resembles a continuous conveyor belt from which sequels of sequels roll off. The Prince of Persia game series, which to this day continues its vibrant existence, has not remained in business. The release of this plus to all was timed to coincide with the movie of the same name, which promised the game a certain interest, both from fans of the series and interested moviegoers.
The plot of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is simple and extraordinary: the prince decides to visit the kingdom of his older brother Malik, but finds it under siege by an enemy army. Trying to get rid of the invaders with the help of a magical two-piece medallion, Malik unleashes Solomon's mysterious army. However, having broken free, she turns all the inhabitants of the kingdom into sand statues. Now only the Prince can stop her.
During his adventures, the Prince meets the genie queen Razia. She tells the Prince that in fact Solomon's army was created by the ifrit Ratash many centuries ago in order to exterminate the genies and people. And it is called that because it was aimed at overthrowing King Solomon. But the genies and people, joining forces, were able to imprison Ratash and his army. Now he has broken free again. Razia explains to the Prince that only by combining both parts of the medallion can the army be locked away again. The prince undertakes to find Malik, who has the second half of the medallion.
To help our character, like the hero of the film, to add his own gaming charm, he was given the power of time management, thanks to which we will be able to rewind game moments and stop the flow of time. But this particular game feature is a bit reminiscent of a similar function in the previous part of Prince of Persia, when Elika, thanks to her magic, got us out of all sorts of troubles.
We invite you to evaluate part of the game walkthrough of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, where you can see for yourself the quality of this product:
At first glance, nothing stunning - as in previous games in the series, you will find an incredible amount of acrobatic stunts, simple riddles, easy battles, upgrading a few skills and rare skirmishes with bosses. But once you play a little and get used to it, you will get a lot of pleasure from the game. We, of course, wanted to get a more worthy project, and if console players have an incredible number of different slashers that are head and shoulders above Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, then PC players, alas, have nothing to choose from...
Review: Game Graphics
Compared to the previous part, the main graphical component of the game has not undergone drastic changes. And if in the 2008 game the graphic style was made in a cartoon form, then in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands everything looks more natural. But due to the lack of advanced graphics, some cartoonish inclusions still occur, which is especially noticeable on the game characters and contrasting colors.
The game does not support either DirectX 10 or DirectX 11, although tasseling would add more flavor and charm to the game. Again, the influence of cross-platform is very noticeable, and besides, the developers spent all additional funds on protection against pirate hacking, and there was no money left for advanced graphics.
But enough about the sad things - the game is beautiful and attractive in its own way: the level of detail is quite high, the characters are not too crooked, although sometimes the muscles attached to the body are striking, the design of levels and locations does not cause irritation. All this promises players who purchase this game a pleasant pastime.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using Fraps. the most resource-intensive place in the game.
Our video cards are tested in general in all separate screen sizes, and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all gaming separate screen sizes. All video cards were tested at maximum graphic quality settings.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1024x768
For most gamers, the picture is very rosy and cloudless. To run the game at maximum settings with a resolution of 1024x768 and 8x anti-aliasing, a card of the Radeon HD 4670 or GeForce GT 220 level will be quite sufficient, which is by far the most budget gaming option.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1280x1024
When increasing the resolution to 1280x1024, the required minimum of 25 frames will be provided by the Radeon HD 3850 or GeForce 8800 GS. And although the minimum level will be slightly lower, it will still be enough for a more or less comfortable game.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1680x1050
When switching to a resolution of 1680x1050, the situation does not change much compared to the previous resolution, and for normal gaming you will need cards of the Radeon HD 3870 or GeForce 8800 GS level.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1920x1080
For a widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080, cards of the Radeon HD 3870 or GeForce 9600 GT level will be required. But if you take into account the drops in the minimum FPS below 25 frames, then you can’t do without more respectable representatives of the graphics community, namely the Radeon HD 4850 or GeForce 8800 GTX.
Conclusion: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands can be called an excellent choice for fans of slashers on PC. The game's requirements are also quite human and will allow most players to enjoy the gameplay. It is the low load on video cards that allowed Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to receive an overall rating of 70%.
