THE GRAFICAL PART |
This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.
Supported OS and Graphics API |
Monster Hunter Wilds designed for 64-bit versions Windows (10 or 11), uses DirectX 12 and supports DirectStorage technology. The developers claim the ability to work with upscaling technology (including frame generation) to improve performance. Although the official requirements do not directly indicate support for Ray Tracing, below is a general idea of how graphics can change with RT on and off in games of a similar level, if the developers add the corresponding option.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY |
QUALITY |
No ray tracing The game uses classic rendering methods, so the picture looks quite bright, but the lighting and shadows do not interact with the environment in such detail. At the same time, the general visual style is preserved, and most surfaces seem believable without much loss in quality or atmosphere.
With ray tracing enabled The differences are noticeable in softer shadows and natural behavior of light when transitioning between bright and dark areas, but the effect is not as striking and does not affect, for example, reflections on water or metal to a significant extent. Visual depth is slightly higher, but there is no noticeable jump in graphics, and many players will not consider the difference critically important.
Despite the promise of impressive detail, the high-quality texture pack for Monster Hunter Wilds turned out to be more of a marketing gimmick than a real leap in graphics. The difference between the standard and enhanced textures is so minimal that it's hard to notice even with close inspection.
In the early scenes where the player is in the village, you would expect the fabrics, wood and decorative elements to sparkle with new colors, but in fact, the textures are only slightly improved, while the overall visual saturation remains the same. If you look closely at the details, you can see a subtle increase in clarity, but it is not an effect that can be called revolutionary.
In the second scene, in a library littered with scrolls and books, you would think that the rich textures would come into their own, but the differences are subtle – old parchments, wood and burlap look almost identical to the standard version. Contrast and depth of detail remain virtually identical.
And in a desert location, where the sun fills the area with soft light, and BOALL it seems that there is no difference BOALL. High-resolution textures that are supposed to emphasize the roughness of wood or the dustiness of a cart turn out to be practically indistinguishable without direct comparison.
As a result, if you don’t know in advance about the inclusion of the package, it will be almost impossible to distinguish improved textures from standard ones.
