Official description of the game

The game will tell about the first contacts between earthlings and the inhabitants of the beautiful blue planet Pandora. In the distant future, earthlings have exhausted the resources of their home planet and are now striving to take possession of the gifts not of the Earth, but of Pandora. The peace-loving Na'vi, the natives of Pandora, live without technology, in harmony in the beautiful world of wild nature.

What will happen to the fragile world of the blue-skinned Na'vi giants with long tails and huge green eyes when the Earth's man-made armada hovers in the skies of their planet? How to save humanity from resource hunger and, at the same time, not destroy the biological civilization of the aborigines?

Which civilization will ultimately come out on top in the race for survival? Players will be able to get answers to these questions by standing on one side of the conflict and building the future of their nation with their own hands. Avatar is a prequel to James Cameron's film of the same name, the director's first project in ten years, which will be released in cinemas worldwide on December 14.

Review: Playability

There are very, very few good game projects based on the same-name films. In fact, they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Only the released X-Men Origins: Wolverine can be called a pleasant exception from this list. Soallm recently, half a month before the release of the official game, the publisher Ubisoft Entertainment decided to release a demo version of this product in anticipation of the release of James Cameron's Avatar: The Game. We decided to introduce you to it.

Despite the fact that the game is a demo version, all the signs of an outstanding project clearly appear in it: an excellent plot that formed the basis of the film of the same name, a well-translated spirit of the game world, interesting and exciting gameplay, the ability to upgrade the character and weapons, as well as not very meticulous controls.

Overall, the project is very reminiscent of the well-known Lost Planet and will appeal to fans of this genre.

Review: Game Graphics

In fact, the game graphics really pleased us. We haven’t seen such an abundance of graphical bells and whistles for a very, very long time. What especially pleased us was the actual support for DirectX10!

AvatarDemo_2009-11-25_22-27-17-23

The game world is very, very nice, the abundance of graphic effects and the detail of the game space are pleasing to the eye. The physical effects are done very decently and will please the eyes of sophisticated gamers.

Since the film will be shown in 3D mode, the game also has a function to enable 3D effects. But amorphous blue-red glasses are most likely not the best choice for this, and the visual image in 3D seemed to us in this mode to be of very dubious quality.

Everything was done to a very, very high standard. We cannot yet judge the full beauty of the game world, but what we saw pleasantly impressed us.

Review: Resource-intensive game

To obtain the proper visually pleasing gaming effect, gamers will need a dual-core Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM..

table

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality by the Fraps program in the most resource-intensive part of the game. We tested video cards from the lower price range at a resolution of 1024x768, we tested video cards from the mid-price range at a resolution of 1280x1024, and video cards from the upper price range were tested at a resolution of 1680x1050.

Here again, once again Radeon cards are a complete fiasco. Most likely, we are expecting either new drivers or a hotfix for them from AMD programmers.

Conclusion: Overall, the demo left only positive impressions, and if the developers don’t let us down with the full version of the project, it will be a real hit!
