Hell is Us Demo - PC performance graphics benchmarks of Graphics Cards and Processors
We have tested Hell is Us Demo on maximum graphics settings with video cards of the GeForce RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 series, as well as Radeon RX 6000, 7000 and 9000. Also, during the tests we conducted, we assessed the quality of the graphic display of the game itself.
THE GRAFICAL PART |
This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.
Supported OS and Graphics API |
The project is designed for modern processors and video cards with DirectX 12 support and 8-12 GB of video memory. Upscaling is used as the main rendering mode — the game was tested with image scaling algorithms activated, but the exact technologies (DLSS, FSR, XeSS) are not specified. In the mode with minimal settings, it is possible to run on HDD, but at high settings, SSD is required. Below are the official minimum and recommended system requirements.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY |
hell is us is an upcoming action-adventure game being developed using Unreal Engine 5. The project was announced in April 2022 and was originally planned for release in 2023. However, the release was pushed back to September 4, 2025 to ensure higher quality and depth of gameplay.
The game's plot takes place in a fictional country engulfed in civil war and isolated from the rest of the world. Players take on the role of a character named Remy, who returns to his homeland in search of his parents and encounters mysterious creatures known as "Void Wanderers".
The game's development began with the goal of creating a unique experience that would be different from traditional games of the genre. One of the key features was the lack of a mini-map, compass and quest markers. Players will have to navigate the world by relying on dialogue with non-player characters, the environment, and their own intuition.
The game is inspired by the events of the 1990s and explores themes of psychological trauma, the limits of human understanding and the unknown forces of nature. The developers aimed to create an atmosphere in which players would not only fight external threats, but also face internal conflicts.
In September 2024, a gameplay trailer was shown at an event hosted by Sony, confirming the new release date. Since then, the developers have been actively working on optimizing and polishing the game to provide players with a high-quality and exciting experience.
GRAPHICS |
hell is us stands out for its unique visual style, combining realism and elements of surrealism. The game world is presented as a dilapidated region with elements of post-apocalypse, where nature and technology coexist in strange harmony.
Particular attention was paid to lighting and color palette. The game uses contrasting colors and dynamic lighting to create a tense and mysterious atmosphere. Shadows and lighting effects play a key role in conveying mood and emotion.
The design of the creatures known as Hollow Wanderers is a mixture of organic and inorganic elements, making them both frightening and fascinating. Their animations and behavior emphasize their alien nature and enhance the sense of danger.
The user interface is minimalistic, which contributes to a deeper immersion into the game. The lack of a minimap and quest markers forces players to pay attention to environmental details and dialogue with NPCs. This decision highlights the developers' desire to create a more realistic and intuitive gaming experience.
Overall, the graphics hell is us represents a harmonious combination of realism and artistic approach, creating a unique visual experience that sets the game apart from other projects in the action-adventure genre.
GAME ENGINE |
hell is us developed on Unreal Engine 5, which allows the game to use advanced graphics technologies and provide high quality visuals. The engine provides the ability to create realistic lighting, detailed textures and complex animations.
The game uses technologies that allow creating highly detailed models and realistic global illumination in real time. This provides a deeper immersion into the game world and makes the visuals more impressive.
The game supports resolution scaling technologies such as DLSS, FSR and XeSS, which can improve performance on various configurations. This is especially important for achieving stable frame rates at high resolutions.
In general, technical features hell is us demonstrate the developers' commitment to using the latest technology to create an immersive and visually impressive gaming experience.
QUALITY |
On the minimum settings The game uses aggressive scaling with simplified geometry, blurred shadows and disabled reflections. Textures are loaded with a delay, especially on the HDD, the draw distance is reduced, and environmental details are noticeably simplified. Lighting works in a basic mode without complex effects, there is no soft shading and light scattering.
On the maximum settings Full shaders, volumetric lighting, increased detail of textures and effects, including particles, smoke and light rays are used. Scaling is still active, but it works at a high internal resolution, which gives a clear image without artifacts. The drawing distance has been increased, post-processing, soft shadows and expanded materials on the surface of objects are active.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of a test segment from the game:
Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes 1920x1080, 2560x1440 и 3840x2160 with maximum graphics quality settings without upscales.
TEST GPU |
In the video card test, the default resolution is 1920x1080; other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected). The test is carried out on the most powerful CPU in this game and is scaled to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.
