Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition is an updated version of the cult action game from Rockstar Games, scheduled for release on March 4, 2025. This version is the most advanced adaptation of GTA V for modern platforms, offering improved graphics technology, a redesigned engine and updated physics. Development began shortly after the release of the new generation of consoles, when Rockstar Games decided to update the game, adapting it to current industry standards. The developers set themselves the goal of not just improving the resolution and textures, but completely updating the lighting, physics simulation and NPC artificial intelligence. This led to a deep reworking of the lighting system, shadows and reflections, which made the visual component much more realistic.
One of the key tasks was to improve the detail of the city, so that Los Santos would look even more alive and full of events. Thanks to new algorithms for generating pedestrians and vehicles, it was possible to increase the density of traffic and the number of NPC streets, which makes the game world more dynamic. Work was also carried out on the realism of weather conditions, which is noticeable in the redesigned system of rain, wind and change of time of day. Rockstar Games also optimized the network code for GTA Online, which reduces delays in multiplayer mode, improves the connection and reduces loading times. Improvements affected the physics of cars: now the control has become more responsive, and collisions are more detailed, taking into account the mass, type of surface and the degree of damage.
An important stage of development was the introduction of advanced rendering technologies, which allowed the game to support ray tracing, global illumination and improved textures. Improved character animations and a physical model made it possible to achieve greater cinematic gameplay. Rockstar Games adapted GTA V Enhanced Edition to modern standards, providing support for 4K resolution, frame rates up to 120 FPS and DLSS 3.0 and FSR 3.1 scaling technologies. Even the smallest details, such as the shine of water, raindrops on asphalt or tire tracks, look much more realistic thanks to the use of next-generation rendering technologies.
The improvements to the weather system are especially noticeable. Now precipitation, fog, and sunlight change the behavior of game objects and characters. For example, wet asphalt reflects the light of car headlights, puddles appear in lowlands, and raindrops remain on the windshields of vehicles. Improved animation of character movement makes their behavior more natural, and their reaction to the environment now takes into account physical factors such as wind, obstacles, and surface height. Highly detailed car textures allow you to see even the smallest details, including dirt, scratches, body damage, and bullet marks.
Thanks to updated technologies, the game now displays even more geometric details without significant load on the processor and video card. This has allowed to significantly improve the models of buildings, furniture, cars and vegetation, making them more complex in shape and texture. Now even small objects such as garbage, leaves, pieces of paper on the street cast shadows and have physical interaction with characters and transport. Los Santos has become much more detailed, and the atmosphere of the city feels more saturated due to the increased number of NPCs and cars. GTA V Enhanced Edition allows players to choose between different quality modes, including ultra-graphics with ray tracing, improved textures and realistic lighting, as well as simplified settings for high frame rates and smooth gameplay.

Now even the smallest details, such as cracks in glass, dents in the body or torn off doors, remain after accidents and affect the behavior of the car on the road.
The reworked NPC artificial intelligence makes pedestrians and drivers behave more naturally. They are now able to adapt to the situation, for example, running away from an approaching car, hiding during a shootout, or trying to call the police when witnessing a crime. The police system has also been improved: patrols now react faster to the player’s actions, use tactical methods when making arrests, and can pursue the player using aerial drones and checkpoints. An improved pathfinding algorithm allows NPCs to find routes faster in complex conditions, which makes the movement of traffic around the city smoother and more predictable.
The engine now supports new rendering technologies, including DirectX 12 and Vulkan, which significantly reduced the load on the processor and improved the distribution of resources between the video card and RAM. Optimization of the game's performance reduced rendering delays, improved object loading speed, and increased the drawing distance. Now, even at the highest settings, the game maintains a stable 60-120 FPS, and users can choose between different scaling algorithms, such as DLSS and FSR, to improve performance without significantly degrading image quality.
In addition, the new version of the engine allows loading more detailed scenes without visible pauses. Now, when changing locations or quickly moving around the map, objects are loaded instantly, which eliminates the effect of lagging texture loading and makes the world more complete. GTA V Enhanced Edition offers revolutionary improvements in animation, graphics, physics and artificial intelligence, making the game as realistic and modern as possible.

No ray tracing The game renders lighting and reflections using classic methods: reflections do not take into account objects outside the frame, and shadows may look less smooth at joints or in complex lighting. However, the overall picture remains bright and detailed, especially at high settings and modern video cards, allowing you to maintain a higher frame rate with a moderate load on the system.

This is especially noticeable in changing lighting conditions, such as when changing from day to night or under different light sources.
