THE GRAFICAL PART

This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.

SUPPORTED OS AND GRAPHICS API

Crysis: Remastered is only supported Windows 7/8/10.

epic

The priority and main graphics API for Crysis: Remastered is DX11.

GAME ENGINE

Crysis: Remastered is based on a modified CryEngine 2, which is written in the same way as its predecessor in C++. At the time of its release, CryEngine 2 is the most technologically advanced and photorealistic engine compared to its competitors.

To write the engine, the DirectX 9 and 10 application programming interface was used. The CryEngine 2 engine contains and improves all the technologies of its predecessor, CryEngine, and also contains many new and innovative graphics technologies. The development of all levels also remained at its best, even improved, CryEngine 2 all is just as good in huge open and closed locations, but a resource pumping system also appeared that made it possible to fill levels as the player progresses.

Features of the updated game engine are:
- DirectX 11 support
-Global Illumination (SVOGI);
-Reflections in real time;
-Refraction of rays through water;
-Completely redesigned depth of field;
-High quality textures;
-Improved particle and explosion display effects;
-Ray tracing;
-Graphic mode “Can Crysis handle it?” on PC with 8K support.

GRAPHICS SETTINGS

Crysis: Remastered, like the original, has a wide range of graphic settings:

Below we have provided screenshots of the game at various graphics settings, where our readers can see the difference between the minimum and maximum graphics quality settings.

COMPARISON OF VERSIONS

GENERAL VISUALS AND GAME PHYSICS

The graphics in Crysis: Remastered have been improved, yes, but their level does not meet the system requirements that it imposes. It doesn’t cause the same “Wow effect” as it did back in 2007. Buying it is a very dubious investment, since it can only be used as a benchmark, far from modern, but very gluttonous.

Pfft, is this what all the fuss is about? Never seen volumetric lighting, SSR reflections and sunscapes? And the gods...

It feels like I went back to 2008 and switched to HD 4890 again, approximately the same FPS was at maximum speed at 1680x1050, emnip, with MSAA x4. And how damn playable it would have been for Kruzis at that time. But it’s the end of 2020, the addition of landscapes and volumetric lighting without changes to everything else and such a dull FPS - how I hope that the industry will come to its senses and throw this tracing back into cinema.

Rays are a real tragedy for the entire coming generation of games

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

At maximum speed I mainly focus on percentages https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp-JTurkulk, without emphasis like at the beginning, when you look back into the jungle, up to 80% increase over vega, this is even more than in Noir bench. And there is no point in using maximum speeds, so I ran it at optimal settings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RTkV_0DVCQ, the objects and shadows are high, the vegetation is average, which greatly reduces the load on the processor, the picture is almost no different from the maximum, and the FPS increases by 2 times. Rays at the level of performance almost do not eat up, sometimes even FPS is higher, and the difference with max. rays are insignificant in the picture, but in terms of FPS the difference is 1.5 times) I wonder what the difference will be for you without rays, with low rays and max. rays.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Well, no wonder, Vega together with 1080 is there at a level between 1660 and 2060, better than it was at release. AMD did not roll out firewood for the cruise - it is an advertising title for the Volta architecture (this is both Thuring and Ampere), which uses all its strengths (int32, I believe).

By the way, I started having troubles in Noir back in the summer, the result dropped by 2 times, friezes, underload of the GPU. Something's wrong with the Kraytek. Firewood has nothing to do with it, I tried to roll back

but on medium you can play and it looks good https://radikal.ru/video/1EguMf8i8KA this is before the update

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Yes, this is a stupid bench, who cares, we passed it 13 years ago. And the original looks better than the remaster.

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

In reality, the layouts are very different from this test segment in favor of Turing) The lighting in the game, by the way, is advanced, SVOGI, but apparently there wasn’t enough money to remake the models and import a multi-thread)

This comment was made by the moderator on the site

Firstly, everyone has their own vision of sharpness, many people like the oversharp with eye-catching colors (reshade in pubga, etc.), secondly, there are much more soapy games than Control, for example, Larka is the latest, I’m generally silent about RDR2, and thirdly, with rays the control looks soapier
You are now turning the arrows to “much more soapy games” - you yourself started Control give an example. I agree that everyone has their own gradation of clarity, but then there is no need to be so categorical, declaring that with DLLS in Control all clearly. Otherwise, you’re just forcing it, but for me, for example, it’s not clear what’s with DLSS, what’s without, and in 4K too.

I gave an example of a picture that is “clear”, in my understanding - clear boundaries of objects, all texture details are visible, etc. If you have a different understanding, ok, just don’t elevate it to a standard.

No, it’s better with a preview, otherwise who knows what you just posted there, so you’ll go in and then take medicine for the rest of your life
Well, no one has posted their dicks here yet. See for yourself, but IMHO it’s more convenient.

I will post it with a preview
