In other cases, the game may not respond or immediately close - all due to disabled or incorrect configuration of the security system. Secure Boot is a function in the BIOS/UEFI that blocks the launch of unsigned bootloaders and drivers. It only works with UEFI boot and GPT disk partitioning, and this is where many problems lie for players who have not encountered such requirements before.
To enable or disable Secure Boot, you need to reboot your computer and enter BIOS/UEFI. Usually, to do this, you need to press the Delete, F2 or F10 key when turning on the computer — the specific key depends on the manufacturer of the motherboard or laptop. The atmosphere has become darker: lighting emphasizes smoke, glare, and fire, while shadows move dynamically and realistically. Weapon textures, uniforms, and character skin—everything has become denser and more precise, without losing the series' signature "militaristic" aesthetic.
Inside arenas and campaigns, the environments are saturated with small elements—wires, debris, and battlefield debris. Street maps feature dynamic reflections, destructible surfaces, and smoke effects, which are now not just decoration but part of the gameplay. However, distant objects, especially buildings and backgrounds, are still simplified: at high movement speeds, the quality of detail noticeably decreases.
The blood and explosion effects are executed with care: without excessive naturalism, but with sufficient physics. In zombie mode, the graphics enhance the contrasts—the darkness, flashes of fire, and neon highlight the tension without losing the clarity of the space.
On PC, modern upscalers and scalable presets are supported. However, the studio hasn't relied on ray-tracing—the game uses dynamic global illumination, which allows for smooth transitions of light and shadow without excessive overhead.
Overall, the image looks modern, yet recognizable: Black Ops 7 maintains the series' signature style while taking a step towards greater realism without destroying the familiar atmosphere.

The texture loading system has become faster, but brief flashes of low-detail objects are sometimes visible during sharp camera movements.
Weapon physics and fighter animations have been improved: recoil feels more natural, and movement is tighter and more solid. AI performance is more robust: enemies attempt to flank, hide, and outflank the player.
Overall, the updated IW Engine delivers good image quality and stability with proper settings. It's not revolutionary, but it's a solid technological step forward that provides Black Ops 7 a modern visual appearance without sacrificing stability.
