How to disable Secure Boot for startup Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Open Beta

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Open Beta requires enabled Secure Boot, and without it the game simply won't start. Some users encounter an error when starting, which directly indicates the need to enable this function. In other cases, the game may not respond or immediately close - all due to disabled or incorrect configuration of the security system. Secure Boot is a function in the BIOS/UEFI that blocks the launch of unsigned bootloaders and drivers. It only works with UEFI boot and GPT disk partitioning, and this is where many problems lie for players who have not encountered such requirements before.

To enable or disable Secure Boot, you need to reboot your computer and enter BIOS/UEFI. Usually, to do this, you need to press the Delete, F2 or F10 key when turning on the computer — the specific key depends on the manufacturer of the motherboard or laptop. After entering the BIOS, you need to find the section with boot or security settings — most often it is called Boot, Security or Authentication. Inside, there will be a Secure Boot item that can be switched to Enabled or Disabled. If the game requires enabling, you need to set it to Enabled, but the function may not be active if the system is running in Legacy mode or the disk uses the old MBR partitioning.

250808175936

For Secure Boot to work correctly, it is important that the boot mode is set to UEFI. If CSM or Legacy Mode is activated in the BIOS, Secure Boot will be forcibly disabled and cannot be changed. Also, the disk must have GPT partitioning - without this, the system simply will not start in the desired mode. If you are using an older version Windows or installed it manually, there is a chance that your disk is in MBR format. In this case, you need to either reinstall Windows with the correct markup, or convert the disk using built-in tools Windows, but this is done at your own risk and requires a data backup.

Some systems may block changes to Secure Boot settings. In this case, you will first need to install the default security keys in the BIOS - the item is usually called Install Default Secure Boot Keys. After that, the setting will be available for change. Sometimes you will also be prompted to enter the BitLocker recovery key after enabling or disabling Secure Boot if the drive is encrypted. This is normal behavior, so make sure you have this key before making changes.

250808175941

Disabling Secure Boot is sometimes used to run modified systems, non-standard drivers or old games, but in case Call of Duty This will cause an error in Black Ops 7 Open Beta. The game requires strict BIOS-level security and refuses to run without it. Therefore, even if you previously disabled Secure Boot, you must now enable it. If the game still returns an error after all these steps, make sure Windows It really boots in UEFI mode, and the disk uses GPT. This can be checked via system information (msinfo32) - the "BIOS mode" line should indicate UEFI, and the disk can be checked via disk management or command line.

After enabling Secure Boot and restarting the system Call of Duty The Black Ops 7 Open Beta should launch without any issues. If the system fails to boot, return to the BIOS and re-enable CSM or reset the BIOS to factory settings. Only then should you begin reinstalling the game. Windows or disk conversion. Secure Boot is a sensitive setting, and any changes without preparation may lead to failures.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 - a new part of the cult line, being developed Treyarch with the support of Raven SoftwareThe game continues the story of Black Ops II, returning David Mason to the center of events. The action takes place in 2035, where a new shadowy organization is formed amid global crises— The Guild, opposing the remnants of the old forces.

 cod25 cod 2025 10 06 09 45 45 204

Work on the project continued in parallel with the previous installment, but this time the studios sought to return to the series' foundations. The primary focus was not on flashy scenarios, but on tight, tactically precise gameplay and a more realistic tone. The decision not to carry over cosmetic content from Black Ops 6 was a conscious one—the developers wanted to strip the game of its visual clutter and unify its style.

 cod25 cod 2025 10 06 09 45 56 822

The production cycle was one of the longest in Treyarch's history, spanning nearly four years of active development. During this time, the team reworked the movement system, made weapons feel heavier, and improved AI reactions. For the first time in the series, the main story can be played in cooperative mode for up to four players, without loss of production quality.

 cod25 cod 2025 10 06 09 51 35 721

Black Ops 7 also focuses on balance. The team is abandoning the overly complex mechanics typical of later installments, returning to streamlined controls and more intuitive combat dynamics. In multiplayer, the emphasis is on precision shooting, the clarity of duels, and the physical reactions of characters.

GRAPHICS

Visually Black Ops 7 While not revolutionary, it significantly surpasses the previous game in terms of lighting quality, materials, and cinematography. The atmosphere has become darker: lighting emphasizes smoke, glare, and fire, while shadows move dynamically and realistically. Weapon textures, uniforms, and character skin—everything has become denser and more precise, without losing the series' signature "militaristic" aesthetic.

cod25 cod 2025 10 06 09 54 41 800

Inside arenas and campaigns, the environments are saturated with small elements—wires, debris, and battlefield debris. Street maps feature dynamic reflections, destructible surfaces, and smoke effects, which are now not just decoration but part of the gameplay. However, distant objects, especially buildings and backgrounds, are still simplified: at high movement speeds, the quality of detail noticeably decreases.

cod25 cod 2025 10 06 09 57 53 376

The blood and explosion effects are executed with care: without excessive naturalism, but with sufficient physics. In zombie mode, the graphics enhance the contrasts—the darkness, flashes of fire, and neon highlight the tension without losing the clarity of the space.

On PC, modern upscalers and scalable presets are supported. However, the studio hasn't relied on ray-tracing—the game uses dynamic global illumination, which allows for smooth transitions of light and shadow without excessive overhead.

Overall, the image looks modern, yet recognizable: Black Ops 7 maintains the series' signature style while taking a step towards greater realism without destroying the familiar atmosphere.

GAME ENGINE

On PC the game runs on an upgraded version IW Engine, developed by Infinity Ward and adapted for Treyarch. The engine has been redesigned for improved texture streaming and faster asset loading, significantly reducing lag when transitioning between zones and modes.

cod25 cod 2025 10 06 10 00 46 968

The main difference of the PC version is its flexibility. You can separately adjust the quality of shadows, lighting, reflections, post-processing, fog density, draw distance, and particle detail. These settings allow you to fine-tune the balance between quality and performance, while the adaptive upscaling system maintains smoothness without noticeable loss of visual fidelity.

cod25 cod 2025 10 06 10 33 35 605

In this case, optimization is not perfectIn large-scale battles with numerous effects—smoke, particles, dynamic light sources—occasional frame drops are observed. The texture loading system has become faster, but brief flashes of low-detail objects are sometimes visible during sharp camera movements.

Weapon physics and fighter animations have been improved: recoil feels more natural, and movement is tighter and more solid. AI performance is more robust: enemies attempt to flank, hide, and outflank the player.

cod25 cod 2025 10 06 10 35 10 331

Overall, the updated IW Engine delivers good image quality and stability with proper settings. It's not revolutionary, but it's a solid technological step forward that provides Black Ops 7 a modern visual appearance without sacrificing stability.

QUALITY

On the minimum settings Call of DutyBlack Ops 7 looks noticeably simpler—the textures of walls, weapons, and characters lose detail, shadows become harsh and unimpressive, and the lighting is static. Reflections and volumetric effects are virtually absent, and dust, smoke, and fire are rendered in a simplified manner. The quality of water and weather effects is reduced, resulting in scenes lacking depth and atmosphere.

On the maximum settings The game delivers a significantly more realistic visual experience: surface materials look natural, lighting is dynamic and emphasizes the volume of objects. More particles are visible in explosion effects, soft shading is present, and reflections are crisp. Weapons, facial shapes, and the environment are significantly more detailed, and the overall scene has a cinematic feel.
