Xbox Game Pass expands the catalog: Diablo IV from Activision Blizzard will be the first game of the service

Xbox Game Pass continues to strengthen its market position, reaching more than 34 million subscribers, according to Phil Spencer. This success is supported by the news that the service will be developed exclusively within the Microsoft ecosystem, with no plans to expand to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms.

Diablo IV Game Pass HD scaled large

In the context of the strategic expansion of the Xbox catalog Game Pass, Sarah Bond, speaking on the Official Xbox Podcast, announced the inclusion Diablo IV service on March 28. This will be the first game from Activision Blizzard to be available in Game Pass after their $68,7 billion purchase by Microsoft in October 2023. The acquisition added popular franchises such as Call of Duty, Warcraft, Overwatch and Diablo, raising expectations for future additions to the Game Pass.

Sarah Bond emphasized Microsoft's commitment to gaming accessibility and supporting Xbox fans, saying that Activision and Blizzard games will appear in Game Pass beginning with Diablo IV. The announcement is part of Microsoft's overall strategy to integrate popular franchises into its subscription service, making them available to a wider audience.

New Xbox Strategy and Inclusion of Activision Blizzard Games in Game Pass are confirmed ahead of the big Xbox reveal in June, where more announcements and details about this and other expansion plans are expected.
