Gothic Remake Will Feature NPC Route Simulation and Advanced Economy

Developers remake of Gothic continue to share details about the creation of the updated version of the cult RPG. In the latest episode documentary series Making of They spoke about several important innovations affecting artificial intelligence, open world and economy.

Gothic

One of the key aspects was the implementation realistic simulation of NPC movement. For example, Gor Na Drak will now actually travel around the world, rather than teleporting to the desired location. The player will be able to trace his entire route, and this decision is intended to increase the level of immersion in the game world.

Another major improvement will be new economic system. The developers note that they do not want to turn the player into a universal source of wealth, so they will limit the ability to earn endlessly on all in a row. Traders will have their own trade routes and will exchange goods with each other, which will create a more organic and living system of failures and shortages.

Particular attention is paid to orcs and their culture, including language, life and behavior. The authors want to make them a full-fledged race, not just enemies. Alkimia Interactive realizes that over time, the in-game economy may break down, but the developers expect this to happen no earlier than the sixth chapter.

The Gothic remake is expected to be released in 2025 on PC and current-gen consoles.
