Ubisoft faces US class action lawsuit over Meta data leak
Company Ubisoft has found itself at the center of a new scandal in the US - a class action lawsuit has been filed against it, in which the company is accused of illegal transfer of player data third parties. The main charge concerns the use of an analytical tool pixel from Meta (formerly Facebook), which allows you to track the effectiveness of advertising.
The plaintiffs claim that Ubisoft used Pixel to collect personal data from its users without their knowledge and transmit it to Meta, allegedly violating several U.S. privacy laws. The lawyers say that all U.S. citizens who have purchased Ubisoft games or paid for subscriptions can join the lawsuit if they did so after the Pixel tool was introduced.
If the allegations are confirmed, Ubisoft could face serious legal consequences, as well as a loss of trust from its players, which will only exacerbate the company's current problems.
