Ubisoft Won't Remove Yasuke From Assassin's Creed Shadows Despite Rumors of Hero Change

Journalist and insider Tom Henderson released an article about Assassin's Creed Shadows, where he said that Ubisoft was going to make changes to the story of Yasuke, one of the game's main characters. However, rumors that the black samurai would be removed from the project turned out to be false.

According to Henderson, the historical inaccuracies in the game are due to Ubisoft bringing in consultants too late. This, as well as poor communication between teams, led to errors, some of which are already in the process of being fixed.

Blogger endymion adds that the game's second main character was originally supposed to be Japanese. The developers had the animations and appearance of the character ready, but then he was replaced by Yasuke. Ubisoft is wary of changing the hero due to the potential negative reaction from the press and the public, and also because the first act of the game is closely tied to Yasuke's story.

In addition, Endymion stated that the release Assassin's Creed Shadows may be postponed due to the need to improve the technical part of the game.
