Steam announced changes to the management and presentation of game demos

Steam has announced significant changes to the way it manages game demos to improve functionality and make it more convenient for users and developers. Users will now be able to add demos to their library without the need for immediate installation, making it easier to organize games.

The new feature allows you to add demos through the Steam mobile app and other platforms. Moreover, even those users who already own the full version of the game will be able to install and test demo versions, which will make it easier for developers to test and manage installations.

It is now possible to delete demo versions from your account, which will simplify the process of cleaning the library. Demos can now be removed from your library with the click of a button, freeing up space for new games.

Developers will be able to create separate pages for demos in the Steam store. These pages will include a description, screenshots, trailers and information about the demo's features, as well as installation buttons and widgets that direct users to the full game page.

Demos will now have the same status as free games, allowing them to appear in popular sections of the store such as Featured New and New. Steam will also notify users who have wishlisted the game when a demo is available, increasing interest and engagement.
