Respawn is developing a Star Wars game starring The Mandalorian

Respawn Entertainment, known for developing Apex Legends, is working on a new Star Wars game that will offer players a unique experience as a Mandalorian bounty hunter. According to insider Tom Henderson, the game will allow players to explore various planets in the Star Wars universe, offering a collection of linear levels. The gameplay will be based on using the jetpack to quickly move, jump and slide, and the playstyle will be rewarded with health restoration for consecutive kills.

The main character will have a variety of weapons and combat tools in his arsenal, including wrist rockets, a grappling hook, and a visor for marking targets and enemies. Henderson emphasized that the game is in the early stages of development and its release is expected no earlier than in a year or two.

The news comes amid anticipation for Ubisoft Massive's other Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws, which will be an open world game set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The plot centers on the story of Kay Wess, who became the most wanted person in the galaxy.

Meanwhile, fans of the Star Wars universe are actively discussing the possible content of the new game from Respawn, suggesting that it could be the long-awaited continuation of such cult series as Jedi Academy, The Force Unleashed and even Knights of the Old Republic. Considering the popularity of The Mandalorian series and the character Grogu, also known as Baby Yoda, the choice of theme for the game seems quite reasonable.
