creation game engine

After the release of Starfield Many players began to wonder whether it was worth it Bethesda continue to use the obsolete Creation Engine. The main reason for dissatisfaction was the abundance of downloads and technical limitations of the engine. In this regard, some players began to call on developers to switch to a more modern engine, for example, Unreal Engine.

Lead designer Skyrim Bruce Nesmith commented on this possibility, explaining that the transition to Unreal may require several years of work. He noted that transferring all the developments to the new engine would be extremely difficult and expensive. "It could take a year or two of technical work just to adapt everything to Unreal"," Nesmith said, adding that it will take even more time to tweak and optimize the game.

Nesmith also acknowledged that Creation Engine there are so-called "technical debts", and switching to a new engine could solve some of these problems. However, he emphasized that it is not the engine that plays the main role, but the quality of the game itself: "We can name hundreds of bad games on Unreal Engine, and it's not the engine's fault."

Thus, despite the obvious problems Creation Engine, Bethesda is in no hurry to change the engine in order to avoid complex and lengthy transition processes.
