Microsoft is considering a cloud version of Xbox Game Pass

After introducing the new Xbox Game Pass tariff plan on consoles, Microsoft is considering other options for developing the service. According to Windows Central, the corporation is working on creating a cloud version of the subscription that will cost less than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be suitable for those players who do not want to buy an Xbox console and do not have a powerful PC. The new offering is designed to attract audiences from competing platforms who don't need all the benefits of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Currently, cloud streaming is only available in the Ultimate version, which Microsoft considers a barrier.

Microsoft also plans to expand the capabilities of the Xbox cloud service. For now, it only offers games that are available on Xbox Game Pass, but in the future, users will be able to buy the games they want to play over the cloud. The new version of Xbox Game Pass is expected to launch with this feature and discussions with publishers are already underway.

Windows Central also mentions the Xbox Game Pass family plan, which has been tested in several countries. Despite the lull, Microsoft is still interested in this subscription option - testing has shown good results.

As for tariffs with advertising, which have begun to appear in online cinemas, Microsoft has no serious plans yet, although such an idea is still being considered. Analysts believe that advertising on Xbox Game Pass could appear in the next few years.
