Helldivers 2 Faces Wave of Negative Reviews Following Escalation of Freedom Update

Yesterday, the shooter Helldivers 2 released its biggest update, Escalation of Freedom, which, despite the abundance of fresh content, caused discontent among players. On the Steam platform, the game received more than 2000 negative reviews, which indicates disappointment in the community.

Players are complaining that the update introduced changes to the flamethrower, anti-tank mines and other types of weapons, which, in their opinion, negatively affected the gameplay. According to many users, it seems as if the developers are deliberately removing the most exciting aspects of the gameplay, reducing the enjoyment of the game.

This perception has led to Helldivers 2 being referred to as "NerfDivers 2", highlighting fans' frustration with the developer's decisions, with players accusing the studio of ignoring feedback and "doing whatever they want with the game".

Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani responded to the backlash by saying that the team will be sure to look into all the feedback and take action to resolve the issues. However, at the moment, discontent in the community continues to grow.
