Ballistic Moon Lays Off Staff Ahead of Remake Release Until Dawn
A wave of layoffs at Ballistic Moon studios came as a surprise given the upcoming release of a cult game remake Until Dawn, which is scheduled for October 4, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC. According to media reports, several team members have lost their jobs, but there have been no official statements from management yet.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, posts from former employees have appeared on social media announcing their dismissal. In particular, Cassie Cornish noted on LinkedIn that she was laid off from her position as a junior game designer, and Harry Williams, who worked as a technical designer for two years, also announced the end of his collaboration with Ballistic Moon.
Ballistic Moon was founded by the co-founders of Supermassive Games and has received backing from Sony. The remake Until Dawn was their first project, and its release is already anticipated by many fans. However, the news of layoffs raises questions about the state of the studio and possible problems in development.
