NVIDIA adds new technology to the hit PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
NVIDIA today announced a partnership with Bluehole to make its popular game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds even better on PC with GPU GeForce® GTX with NVIDIA® ShadowPlay™ Highlights and other advanced technologies.
Starting today, PC gamers will be able to record and share their favorite moments in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds using NVIDIA ShadowPlay Highlights technology. The tool automatically records your best achievements in video or image format and allows you to share them via Facebook, YouTube or Imgur.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds began as a custom mod for ARMA 3. But then it shocked the gaming community, becoming one of the best sellers of 2017 with an audience of more than 8 million players, formed in just five months. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds recently caught the attention of the gaming community when the number of concurrent players on Steam exceeded 600, something only one game had previously achieved.
“PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is known for its fast-paced, fast-paced storyline that doesn't take things too seriously,” said Mr. CH Kim, Vice President and CEO at Bluehole. “By giving players the ability to automatically record all this fun and easily share it with friends, we will increase our social media presence and introduce even more people to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.”
Battleground rises to new heights
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds gained great popularity even at the early access stage, and the development of the game is still ongoing. Even before the official release, which is scheduled for this year, image quality will be improved thanks to NVIDIA HBAO+ integration, which adds realistic shadows around objects and surfaces.
“PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has quickly become a force in the gaming landscape, and we will be working with Bluehole leading up to release to ensure GeForce gamers have the best possible gaming experience,” said Tony Tamasi, senior vice president of content and technology at NVIDIA.
NVIDIA's team of visual effects engineers work directly at Bluehole to help the studio bring the latest graphics and physics technologies to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. All of NVIDIA's game development resources are hosted by Bluehole, including effects libraries, development tools, research papers, sample source code, and more.
The companies' collaboration is designed to maximize the benefits of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series GPUs in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. NVIDIA and Bluehole are currently working to fine-tune performance, improve platform stability, and include all the features and technologies unique to the GeForce GTX gaming platform, such as NVIDIA SLI®, Game Ready Drivers, NVIDIA G-SYNC™, Optimized Gameplay Settings and GeForce Experience™.
