AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" prices: 9950X for $499, 9900X for $399, 9700X for $299, 9600X for $229
Estimated prices for AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" desktop processors have been revealed, and if correct, the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X chip will cost $499. The information comes from an Anandtech forum member who claims to know a BestBuy employee. The Ryzen 9000 processors are reportedly already in stock and will be available for purchase on July 31st.
According to the source, prices for processors will be as follows:
- Ryzen 9 9950X – $499 (versus 7950X MSRP of $699)
- Ryzen 9 9900X – $399 (versus 7900X MSRP of $549)
- Ryzen 7 9700X – $299 (versus 7700X MSRP of $399)
- Ryzen 5 9600X – $229 (versus 7600X MSRP of $299)
These prices may change closer to the official launch. If they are confirmed, AMD will offer very competitive solutions against Intel, especially given Intel's problems with the performance and stability of their desktop processors.
If these prices hold up, the 9-core Ryzen 9950 16X would be a bargain compared to Intel's Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KS. The $7 Ryzen 9700 299X also looks attractive, especially since it beats the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the best gaming chip right now. Ryzen 5 9600X for $229 will be a good solution for the mid-range AM5 segment.
