NVIDIA invests twice as much as AMD in R&D
NVIDIA continues to increase its investment in research and development (R & D), ahead of competitors, including AMD. For the latest quarter ending in July, NVIDIA spent $ 3,09 billion on R & D, which on an annual basis amounts to $ 12,36 billion. While AMD invested $ 1,593 billion in their research for the same period, which on an annual basis amounts to $ 6,372 billion.
In this way, NVIDIA now invests twice as much in R & D compared with AMD. This is a significant lag compared to 2013, when both companies invested almost the same amount in their developments. Since then, NVIDIA has consistently increased its investment in research and development, which is now bearing fruit, especially in the artificial intelligence segment.
It is important to note that AMD forced to distribute its R & D-resources between processors, graphic cards and FPGAWhereas NVIDIA focuses its efforts on developing solutions for AI-data centers. This allows the company to lead in this segment, offering expensive and highly efficient AI-solutions.
NVIDIA expects revenue for 2025 the financial year will reach $ 110 billion, which is significantly higher than the indicator 2023 years, which made up all $ 15 billion. This growth is explained by the high prices of the company's products, including server racks with AI, costing from $2 to $3 million.
