NVIDIA Prepares to Discontinue RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti, Betting on SUPER
Company NVIDIA is preparing a major update to its line of video cards: current models GeForce RTX 5080 и RTX 5070 Ti will be discontinued and replaced by improved versions of the series SUPER. This move indicates the manufacturer's strategy to bring to market solutions with increased memory capacity in order to consolidate its position in the price segment above $550.
The flagship of the update will be RTX GeForce 5080 SUPER, equipped with 24 GB of GDDR7 memory and 10 CUDA cores. The card will offer up to 16% increase in productivity and a TDP of 415 W. Its price will be $999–1199.
The middle segment will take RTX 5070 Ti SUPER with 24 GB of memory and 8960 CUDA cores. With a power consumption of 350 W, the increase will be at the level of 7-11%, and the cost is $749–799.
It is being prepared for the mass market RTX 5070 SUPER with 18GB of memory and 6400 CUDA cores. It will provide 8-12% increase, while its price tag will be $549–599.
The decision to discontinue the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti shows that the company is looking to unify its product lineup by eliminating models with memory capacity below 16 GB. All new cards should be released in late 2025, although the RTX 5080 SUPER may be delayed to Q2026 XNUMX.
