ZOTAC RTX 5070 power cable melted, damaging Seasonic GX-750
User X (Twitter) under the name ere9w reported a serious problem with meals new video card ZOTAC RTX-5070, which led to melting of the cable and sudden ignition of the system. The assembly was equipped Seasonic Focus GX-750 power supply ATX 3.1 standard with native support 12V-2×6 connector.
Judging by the published photos, he was injured. the cable itself, and not the connectors on the video card or PSU side. Some users have noticed that one of the the cable contacts were recessed, which could disrupt the current distribution. Such a malfunction can occur both during installation and be defective from the factory — it is impossible to determine the exact cause from the images.
Another incident raises doubts about reliability of the 12V-2×6 standard, especially if the installation was carried out without any violations. The user has already reported the incident, but it is not yet known whether there will be a reaction from ZOTAC or Seasonic.
