Intel Core Ultra 200K: Release Timing Update
Intel has postponed the distribution of QS samples of Core processors Ultra 200K for August-September, confirming rumors of an October 2024 launch. These changes have been confirmed by sources such as Benchlife and Jaykihn. QS samples were previously planned to be distributed from late September to early October, but this has now been pushed back to August 19 to September 8. Retail launch of Core series processors Ultra 200K is expected in October, and for non-K versions in January 2025.
Intel processors go through multiple stages of testing, and the QS versions most accurately reflect the performance of the retail product. Early versions of silicon, such as ES1 and ES2, often have different clock speeds and features, which is not always indicative of their final performance. These changes highlight Intel's commitment to ensure high quality of its new processors before they are mass produced and released to market.
Core Series Ultra 200, based on the LGA-1851 architecture, promises significant improvements in performance and power consumption. The series is expected to feature two die designs (8+16 and 6+8) to cover a wide range of user needs. The move also confirms that Intel is actively working to improve its technology and expand its processor lineup.
