AMD Introduces Anti-Lag 2 SDK – Improved Game Latency Reduction for Developers
AMD Releases New Technology Radeon Anti-Lag 2, which further reduces lag in games, improving the gaming experience for competitive gamers. Anti-Lag 2 optimizes game processing, providing faster response and increased accuracy. Developers can now integrate the technology directly into their games using SDK, accessible through the platform GPUOpen.
First version Anti-lag was introduced in 2019 and already then reduced latency by several milliseconds, which improved responsiveness in dynamic games. Anti-Lag 2 takes it a step further by moving the latency reduction process from the driver level to the game logic level. The technology is now able to insert a small delay before asking for user input, which further reduces in-game latency.
The technology has already been tested in Counter-Strike 2, where it showed significant improvement. Game developers using AMD FSR3 to generate frames, you must pay special attention to setting up the new Anti-Lag 2 functions so that the technology correctly takes into account interpolated frames.
