AMD Preparing for RDNA 4 Release in the First Half of 2025
AMD is planning to release its new RDNA 4 GPUs in the first half of 2025. The main focus will be on the Navi 48 and Navi 44 chips, which will be part of the new Radeon RX 8000 series. According to insiders, Navi 48 will debut at CES 2025, while the budget Navi 44 will appear in the second quarter of 2025.
Navi 48, which will use the RDNA 4 architecture, promises to offer similar performance to the current Navi 31-based flagships, but with improved power efficiency. The lower-end Navi 44 model will be the successor to the Navi 33 series used in the RX 7600 graphics cards, and will also offer good performance at a reasonable price.
The new video cards are expected to use GDDR7 memory, which will significantly increase bandwidth and improve the realism of gaming graphics. Although AMD is focusing on the mid-range segment, these new products can offer excellent value for money with characteristics close to the current top models at a lower cost.
AMD hasn't revealed much about its plans at shows yet, but the GPUs are expected to launch early next year. Most of the information about Navi 48 and Navi 44 comes from various leaks and patches found in LLVM and ROCm.
