AFMF 2.1 gets Fast Motion Response option
AMD has introduced a new experimental feature. Fast Motion Response for technology Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, designed to improve the quality of frame generation in dynamic scenes. This option not included in the standard AMD Software driver: Adrenalin Edition, but becomes available upon installation PyTorch on Windows Preview Edition 25.20.01.14 - compatible only with video cards Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000.

In the standard version of the driver 25.9.2, only the following are available to users: SearchMode и Performance ModeHowever, after installing the preview version with PyTorch, the AFMF menu appears Fast Motion Response with two new parameters: Repeat Frame и Blended FrameWhen you hover over the image, a tooltip appears explaining that the technology allows you to choose between image quality and motion smoothness.
Mode Repeat Frame simply repeats the last frame, preventing blur and artifacts such as "trails" or "smearing." This is especially useful in scenes where generating an intermediate frame causes problems with visual clarity. In contrast, Blended Frame combines two consecutive frames, creating the illusion of additional movement, but can introduce blur in very fast scenes.
New behavior does not replace, but complements existing modes. Previously SearchMode disabled frame generation for high-speed movements, considering them unsuitable for interpolation. Now Fast Motion Response This effectively closes this gap, offering a more flexible approach. Although the feature isn't described in the official release notes, its behavior indicates AMD's attempt to address AFMF's weakness in fast-paced games.
